Winner of ICast 2018's Best Freshwater Reel category, Curado DC is equipped with a I-DC4 (Digital Control) braking system which automatically controls the brake force at every moment of the cast. It achieves this by constantly measuring the spool's rotation speed and applying the right amount of brake force to control spool rotation preventing backlash.

I-DC4 braking system has 4 settings which can be adjusted externally without having to open up the side plate! So now you can now cast any lure under any conditions easily with less thumbing and without having to make multiple adjustments to the reel. And because you experience less backlash, you can now make use of your valuable time to catch more fish!

The reel is also equipped with Micromodule Gear, X-Ship technology and Cross Carbon Drag housed in a strong yet lightweight Hagane body. Available in HG and XG options as well!

Brake system with advanced information processing capability. I-DC4 reads various situation changes from casting to arrival of lure at target spot through the reading of the spool's rotation and makes fine adjustments to the brake accordingly.

When the spool revolves, an electric current is generated and passes through a microcomputer which measures spool speed every 1/1000th of a second and applies the perfect amount of brake to prevent backlash and maximize distance.

Super mirco pitch gears and precise body housing achieve a silky retrieve feeling which you has never been experienced before. Retrieval vibration level has been reduced by 50% compared to previous generation of gears with higher durability due to the increased engagement between gears.

X-Ship system enables smooth reeling even under heavy loads. Shimano's unique mechanism for robust gear engagement uses an enlarged drive gear, optimum positioning of the pinion and drive gears, and two-point support of the pinion gear whose ends are supported by bearings.

Lightweight carbon material evolved from CI4. Rigidity and durability are greatly improved while keeping the material lightweight.

Cross Carbon Drag provides a wider range of drag settings along with the smoothest Shimano drag performance ever seen.
