MicroModule Gear Ⅱ is further advanced through state-of-the-art, gear tooth surface design and Shimano’s exclusive manufacturing technology. The surfaces of the drive gear and pinion gear have been analyzed and updated from the ground up in pursuit of perfection. Starting from an already industry leading standard, reduced reel noise and even smoother gear feeling have been realized.
The new MicroModule Gear II equipped 2018 Stella has lower gear noise compared to conventional reels.
From the fundamental, whole body design to the most intricate parts of the drive train, including the drive gear, wormshaft, wormshaft pin and worm shaft gear, every piece has been carefully reviewed, and the smallest clearance gaps and wobbles have been eliminated to the highest tolerances. A new generation of silky smooth reeling performance and pristine silence have been achieved.
New STELLA incorporates non-contact X-PROTECT. The combination of water resistance and labyrinth structure provides performance that resists hydraulic pressure without impairing smooth reeling. X-PROTECT is utilized on the line roller and roller clutch, improving line roller durability five times over the existing model.
HAGANE GEAR has been the cornerstone of many of Shimano’s finest spinning reels. While the Shimano-owned, precision, cold forging technology used to produce this gear has proven itself to be durable enough to best the strongest fish, the HAGANE GEAR in this new STELLA has evolved even further. By analyzing the design, without changing material or overall gear size, the HAGANE GEAR in each new STELLA model matches the strength ratings of the HAGANE GEAR one full model size larger in the previous models.
