Team Yumeya Bangkok Expedition
THE PLAN
Months before the designated trip, meetings and discussion were conducted and Team Yumeya members Jason, Jeffrey and me were notified to prepare for this field testing trip for Shimano.
The plan was to field test the new and upcoming Shimano’s Rod and Reels in the Giant Mekong Catfish pond on the first day, the Barramundi pond on the second day followed by fishing for Patin, another freshwater catfish species on the last day.
Everything goes according to plan for the trip and there wasn’t any hiccup at all, much to the delight of Team Yumeya members. Personally, I would like to put my feelings down in words that Shimano was always dedicated to create new designs, features and products to cater for the never-ending anglers demands. Evair Sandals
I had this great opportunity to enjoy the privilege of using this exceptional Shimano’s new product before it was launched in the market. It was the new stylish Shimano’s Evair sandals which looked pretty cool for its simple design. With the Shimano brand embedded on the top and back portion of the sandals. Shimano - recognized for its reputable recreational products, designed the product with a sporty look too.

I was approached by Shimano Singapore to trial test and give comments of the Shimano Horizon SC Special XXX series. A dual purpose surfcasting rod that is capable of hitting huge distances as well as one that possesses fishing capability.

Catch Report: Fishing for squid but came the grouper

After watching squid fishing video in ShimanoTV Japan. I went fishing for squid with my Shimano Bassterra and Symetre 500FJ. Although, it's not a pure breed squid fishing rod but it certainly served its purpose being an all round light tackle fishing rod.
Bassterra's ultra light and sensitive carbon blank makes a good combination with exceptionally smooth Shimano's Symetre 500FJ. It really makes my fishing so enjoyable that I am loving it for every cast and retrieve I made.

Catch Report: Fishing for squid Part 2

The urge to get hooked onto a huge squid remains in my mind as I kept watching ShimanoTV. I was determined to try and get a record size bugger on squid jig. I knew that I have to be hardworking and persistent if I wanted to catch one. Therefore, I am monitoring the tide table closely and I never want to miss any chance if it happens to be my off day.
